About Us

The Orange Cycle and Triathlon Club (OCTC) is located in the central tablelands region of New South Wales, Australia. The club caters for triathletes and cyclists of all abilities and ages.

Triathlons and duathlons are held most weekends between late October and March (and maybe a little later if it's not too cold!) . See the calendar for what is coming up.

Most triathlons are held at Lake Canobolas - a fantastic venue that includes an open water swim, a challenging bike leg and a scenic run leg around the lake. Duathlons are held at the Orange Olympic Pool, which is nestled in picturesque Moulder Park in the centre of Orange.

The club also has a dedicated group of road and track cyclists.

The OCTC Bicycle User Group is for social rides, cycle touring, training, and advocacy in the Orange, Cabonne and Blayney region.

Triathlon

With the continuing success of Australia’s elite triathletes in the Commonwealth Games and more recently the World Championships, it is no wonder Triathlon is becoming one of the fastest growing sports in Australia. More and more people are catching the Triathlon bug and with our Orange Club we will be focusing on welcoming new members and offering the sport of triathlon to all those who are keen to have a go.
Our club is open to all ages and we encourage people of all fitness levels to become involved. Triathlon is not about winning but choosing a healthy lifestyle that will incorporate a variety of sports with regular training sessions, new friendships and of course some competition from time to time.
So why not come along and see if you share the passion? Just remember you don’t have to an Olympian to reach sporting success. The biggest step is making it to the start line…….and who knows where you will go from there?

Bicycle Users Group (BUGS)

The OCTC Bicycle User Group is for social rides, cycle touring, training, and advocacy in the Orange, Cabonne and Blayney region. Everyone is welcome to join a social ride, that are held monthly or so, and may involve an cafe/winery/pub stop along the way. Find a suitable ride on the calendar, contact the ride leader if requested, meet some new friends and get invigorated whilst cycling in the countryside. Our inaugural ride was in the rain to Cargo Road Winery during FOOD WEEK on April 21 2001, although most of our rides are much more pleasant (see the photos). The Bicycle User Group of OCTC is affiliated with Bicycle NSW www.bicyclensw.org.au and our rides are also listed in their calendar at www.pushon.com.au
